Job summary

A leading global manufacturing company in South Africa is seeking a Plant Production Planner to oversee plant production and material planning. This role requires developing production schedules, managing purchase orders, optimizing inventory levels, and implementing best practices in procurement. The ideal candidate will possess a university degree in supply chain management and at least 5 years of relevant experience. Knowledge of SAP PP and MM is preferred. Strong analytical and organizational skills are essential, along with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• University degree or relevant education in supply chain management.
• 5+ years of experience in production and material planning.
• Knowledge of procurement processes and supplier management.
• Hands-on planning exposure including MRP and demand planning.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed production schedules.
• Monitor production capacity and optimize resource utilization.
• Analyze forecasts to accurately forecast material requirements.
• Generate and manage purchase orders for materials.
• Identify and mitigate risks related to material availability.
• Optimize stock levels while minimizing excess inventory.
• Implement improvements to material planning processes.
