Job Description: To manage and supervise construction projects to ensure they are completed safely, on time, within budget, and in accordance with quality standards and regulatory requirements.
The incumbent will oversee planning, coordination, and implementation of construction activities on site, including managing staff, subcontractors, and liaising with clients and consultants.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Project Planning and Execution: Participate in the development and implementation of project execution plans and schedules. Coordinate site setup, resources, materials, equipment, and labour. Ensure adherence to project timelines and deliverables. Monitor project milestones and ensure alignment with contractual obligations.
- Site Supervision and Quality Control: Supervise all on-site construction activities to ensure compliance with design specifications, construction drawings, and quality standards. Enforce health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations on site. Conduct regular inspections and audits to monitor quality and safety performance. Coordinate inspections with relevant stakeholders, including engineers and local authorities.
- Team and Contractor Management: Manage, supervise, and mentor site staff, including junior supervisors and technical personnel. Oversee and coordinate subcontractor work to ensure integration with main project activities. Facilitate clear communication between various parties on-site and off-site (contractors, consultants, suppliers, etc.).
- Cost and Resource Management: Monitor usage of materials and equipment to minimize waste and control costs. Track and report project costs and progress. Assist in identifying and managing project risks, delays, and change orders.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed site records including daily progress reports, site instructions, non-conformance reports (NCRs), and meeting minutes. Prepare regular progress and compliance reports for submission to clients and regulatory bodies. Support the project team in contract administration and documentation.
