Senior Specialist LFI (Learning from Incidents) – Location: Johannesburg. Salary: Competitive and based on experience. Our client is on the lookout for a Senior Specialist in Learning from Incidents (LFI). This role presents an exciting opportunity to be part of a significant transformation journey, embedding operational excellence and setting up as a standalone and independent entity. The successful candidate will play a leadership role in protecting and creating value, with safety as an overarching and paramount value.

What you'll do:

• Oversee consistent application of Safety & Health principles
• Implement and monitor group LFI programs for the assigned sites
• Guarantee accurate and timely reporting of incidents
• Support Level 1 to 3 incidents reporting, HPI/HPHs investigations for the site(s) assigned and cross-sites when required by group
• Monitor LFI KPIs for the assigned site(s) and establish an operating rhythm with key stakeholders
• Deliver governance routines to LFI programs to guarantee program consistency and adherence to group instructions

You will have demonstrated experience working within investigations at a project, operation or BU level in mining or Oil and Gas Industry. Your leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, proactive teamwork approach, orderly work habits, assertive negotiation skills, conflict resolution abilities, influence and persuasion in decision-making will set you apart.

• Bachelor’s / Honors degree in sciences, engineering or other related careers
• 5 – 7 years related experience within a technical environment
• Demonstrated experience working within investigations at a project, operation or BU level in mining or Oil and Gas Industry
• Leadership, excellent communication skills, proactive team work, orderly work, assertive negotiation, conflict solving, influence and persuasion in decision-making
• Good analytical skills and attention to detail
