Job summary
A recruitment consulting firm is in search of a seasoned Finance Manager in Johannesburg. The successful candidate will oversee finance, accounting, and compliance activities, manage cash flow, and ensure accurate reporting. Applicants should have a Bachelor's degree in Commerce and be a Chartered Accountant, with at least 5 years in a management role in a relevant industry.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a management role.
- Experience in manufacturing, freight & logistics, trading environment is advantageous.
- Experience with tax, SARS, management accounts, and audit.
Responsibilities
- Preparing and submitting tax returns and VAT submissions.
- Cash flow management and forecasting.
- Overseeing finances and reporting compliance.

Our multinational client is looking to employ a seasoned Finance Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for finance, accounting, compliance activities amongst other duties. Apply now.
- Preparing and submitting tax returns and VAT submission for all operations
- Cash flow management, forecasting and review reports from divisions
- Inventory Management; Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable Management
- Budgeting and forecasting and preparing budgets for board purposes.
- Overseeing finances and ensuring all reporting done in line with company policies.
- Implementation and standardization of financial controls across all operations and projects
- Liaising closely with all stakeholders to ensure their requirements are understood and met from a finance perspective.
- Ensuring and reviewing sales transactions on a monthly
- Monitoring and managing banking expenses including bank charges, commitment fees, facility fees
- Planning and coordinating year-end financial audit.
- Reviewing VAT submission documents, reconciliation of GP reports to Omni, General ledger reconciliations.
- Preparing quarterly results and submitting quarterly pack, including quarterly forecasts, to Exco for board presentation purposes.
- Drafting and preparing monthly packs using BI Tools
- Supporting and driving the business' core values and strategy especially in relation to trading
- Risk Management and compliance
- Chartered Accountant (preferred)
- Completed Bachelor of Commerce Degree (non-negotiable)
- Articled – SAIPA/ SAICA (non-negotiable)
- Must have minimum 5 years' experience in a management role
- Must have experience using systems (CaseWare, Evolution, Syspro, SAP) and System implementation (ERP)
- Must have experience in Manufacturing, Freight & logistics, Trading environment advantageous.
- Must have experience with finance instruments like hedging and forward cover, Bank negotiations
- Must have experience with Forex accounting experience, M&A – due diligence, funding models, Cash reserves – max revenue opportunities and other forex trading experiences
- Must have experience with raising finance – Capex, Ops funding requirements
- Must have tax, SARS, management accounts and audit experience
