RPO Recruitment's client, a prominent and well established company in South Africa, is currently on the lookout for an experienced and driven Electrical Design Engineer who will lead the electrical design and design coordination for large-scale renewable energy projects, including solar PV, wind energy, LV/MV electrical reticulation networks and battery energy storage systems (BESS).

• Lead the electrical design and design coordination for large-scale renewable energy projects, including solar PV, wind energy, LV/MV electrical reticulation networks and battery energy storage systems (BESS).

• BSc/BEng degree in Electrical Engineering


• Minimum 7 years of professional experience in electrical design, with a strong track record in infrastructure projects


• Proven experience with grid-tied solar PV, wind farm electrical design


• Deep understanding of MV/HV substation and overhead line design


• Strong knowledge of SANS, IEC, and local grid code compliance


• Proficiency in electrical design software (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, ETAP, DIgSILENT, PVSyst, Helioscope)


• Registered or eligible for registration with ECSA as a Professional Engineer


• Strong leadership, communication, and project coordination skills

• Salary: Negotiable, depending on experience and qualifications
