Role: Software Development Team Lead | Scrum Master

Contract type: Independent contractor (day rate)

Duration: 6 months initially (with strong likelihood of extension)

Location: Remote (South Africa-based candidates only)

About the opportunity

We’re looking for a Senior Developer Team Lead to guide this initiative, someone technical, delivery-focused, and confident leading both people and projects. This is a hands-on role where you'll play a key part in leading the delivery of a robust event-driven system using C# and React. You’ll provide technical and human leadership to a growing team, while working closely with client stakeholders to shape and steer progress of the project. Strong people management skills, the ability to manage project delivery, and excellent communication are essential.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the project delivery of a new fintech platform (main tech .Net/C# and React)
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to a team of developers
• Collaborate directly with client stakeholders in a delivery-focused, agile environment
• Take responsibility for project timelines, stand ups, sprint planning, and overall delivery
• Support the growth and cohesion of a high-performing remote development team
• Contribute to architecture and technical decision-making, with a focus on event-driven systems
• Balance technical execution with people leadership and client communication

Important to note

• Based in South Africa and legally able to work as an independent contractor
• Able to invoice monthly based on a day rate (must already be set up for this)
• Fully remote capable: reliable laptop, fast internet, backup power provision for loadshedding
