The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for supervising warehouse staff, enforcing safety and regulatory controls specific to tobacco handling, maintaining inventory accuracy, and delivering on customer KPIs and contractual service levels. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supervise daily warehouse operations: manage receiving, putaway, picking, packing, and dispatch to meet customer SLAs.
  • Enforce safety and security: maintain a safe workplace, enforce PPE, lock‑and‑key controls, and restricted access for excise goods.
  • Ensure regulatory and customer compliance: follow tobacco‑specific SOPs, excise documentation, traceability, and audit readiness.
  • Lead and develop staff: coach teams, run shift briefings, manage attendance, and support performance reviews.
  • Coordinate with carriers and customer contacts: schedule inbound/outbound movements and resolve shipment exceptions.
  • Drive continuous improvement: identify process improvements, reduce waste, and support cost control initiatives.
  • Report and elevate: prepare daily/weekly operational reports and raise issues to management and the customer as required.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Someone with:

  • Minimum 3–5 years warehouse supervisory experience in a 3PL or high‑security environment.
  • Experience with WMS and inventory control; familiarity with barcode/RFID systems preferred.
  • Forklift and equipment certification where applicable.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills with proven ability to manage shift teams and customer interactions.

Key performance indicators (KPIs)

  • On‑time dispatch rate; inventory accuracy; order pick accuracy; safety incident rate; customer satisfaction / SLA compliance.

Working conditions & compliance notes

  • Role requires adherence to strict security and age‑restriction policies for tobacco products, participation in audits, and occasional overtime during peak periods.
  • The supervisor must maintain confidentiality and integrity in handling excise‑sensitive inventory.
