Job summary

A leading security firm in Johannesburg is seeking an experienced security operations manager to oversee staff management and tactical operations. The ideal candidate will have over 8 years of experience in riot control and strong leadership abilities. This role involves managing staff schedules, coordinating responses during emergencies, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. Competitive compensation is offered.

Qualifications

  • 8 to 10 years of experience in tactical security operations and riot control.
  • PSIRA Registered in the relevant grade.
  • Strong background in law enforcement.

Responsibilities

  • Manage staff schedules, time and attendance, and leave schedules.
  • Maintain safety action plans for staff, assets, and property.
  • Oversee deployments and coordinate actions for successful operations.
  • Assist with audit requests and liaise for payroll audits.
  • Conduct site inspections and implement risk-mitigation strategies.
  • Lead during high-risk situations like riots and emergencies.
  • Manage firearms in the region, including training and license renewals.
  • Manage expenditure including overtime, CAPEX, and uniforms.

Managing staff schedules, time and attendance, leave schedules, postings, redeployments, and overtime.

Implementing and maintaining action plans to ensure the safety of staff, assets, and property.

Managing deployments and co-ordinate essential actions required for successful deployment.

Assisting with audit requests and act as the primary liaison for internal and external payroll audits.

Conducting site inspections, risk assessments, and implement risk-mitigation strategies.

Enforcing and adhere to the Company Disciplinary Code of Conduct, policies, and procedures.

Leading the charge during high-risk situations, including riots, public disturbances, and emergencies, ensuring rapid response and effective resolution.

Overseeing firearms management in the region, including regulation 21 training and renewal of firearm licenses.

Managing expenditure and costs (overtime, CAPEX, uniforms, fuel, etc.).

Acting as the primary liaison with SAPS (South African Police Service), local authorities, and Disaster Management, ensuring seamless coordination during incidents

Qualification & Skills

8 to 10 working years' experience in tactical security operations and riot control.

PSIRA Registered (relevant grade as required for the role)

Solid background in law enforcement.

Strong knowledge of security operations, risk management, and compliance with industry standards.

Proven leader with strong team management skills.

Proven ability to lead intervention, tactical, and riot-control teams, including deployment planning, crisis response, and high-risk operations.
