Senior Transactor – Renewable Energy (Project Finance)

Location: Cape Town

Our client, a leading renewable energy investment and development business, is seeking a Senior Transactor to work closely with senior leadership to progress renewable energy projects from preferred-bidder award through to financial close, leading commercial negotiations and managing transaction execution.

This role offers the opportunity to work on high-value energy infrastructure transactions across South Africa and the broader African market, contributing to the region's clean-energy transition.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead commercial negotiations and project agreements across lenders, equity partners and off-takers

• Drive financial close strategy and execution across multiple workstreams

• Oversee and review project financial models (from bid stage to close)

• Manage due diligence processes and cross-functional stakeholder engagement

• Support structuring and credit approval processes

• Lead PPA and project document negotiations during bid and execution phases

Experience & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Law, Business or related field (MBA beneficial)

• 6+ years’ experience in project finance / banking within the renewable energy or infrastructure sector

• Proven experience closing large-scale project finance transactions

• Strong commercial negotiation skills with lenders, IPPs & offtakers

• Excellent financial modelling understanding (oversight, not building)

• Ability to manage multidisciplinary teams and external advisors
