Job summary

A leading finance firm in Johannesburg is looking for a seasoned finance professional to manage investment asset reporting. You will be responsible for preparing accurate financial reports, ensuring compliance with IFRS, and providing data insights. The ideal candidate should have a Chartered Accountant qualification, a BCom degree, and at least 7 years of experience in financial services, especially in asset management or life insurance. This is a full-time role with a salary range of R 500 000 to R 800 000 annually.

Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of financial instruments and asset management systems.
  • Deep knowledge of IFRS7, IFRS10 and general accounting practices.

Duties & Responsibilities

Are you a seasoned finance professional with deep expertise in investment asset reporting? This is your opportunity to take ownership of high‑impact financial reporting processes in a dynamic and data‑driven environment.

In this role you’ll be responsible for preparing and delivering accurate, complete and timely financial reports to a wide range of stakeholders. You’ll work with complex financial instruments, maintain high‑integrity databases and ensure compliance with IFRS and regulatory standards. Your work will directly support strategic decision‑making and regulatory reporting across investment portfolios.

  • Ensure accuracy, completeness and integrity of financial investment asset reporting data received from various sources
  • Perform reasonability checks and resolve data queries in collaboration with relevant business units
  • Maintain and enrich high‑integrity databases and reporting platforms with investment‑related data
  • Analyse large volumes of financial data to produce meaningful insights for stakeholders
  • Apply IFRS standards (especially IFRS7 and IFRS10) and ensure correct classification of financial instruments for statutory reporting
  • Update accounting systems and reporting tools with enriched data for regulatory submissions (e.g., FSCA QRTs)
  • Perform monthly reconciliations of general ledger and investment reporting requirements
  • Liaise with internal and external auditors during reporting cycles
  • Support tax‑related functions including CGT S24J and DWT
  • Assist in preparing valuation techniques and credit ratings for financial statements
  • Contribute to fund consolidation processes and complete IFRS7 working papers and supplementary packs
  • Conduct functional and user acceptance testing of relevant systems
  • Document processes and procedures to ensure consistency and compliance with group policies
  • Provide technical support to the broader reporting team and resolve client queries
Job Experience and Skills Required
