HKT Architects is a full-service architectural firm in our 52nd year of business. Our work includes municipal projects such as public safety, public works and town offices as well as college/university projects, interior design, sustainable design and historic preservation throughout New England.

HKT Architects is looking for a Project Manager / Project Architect for immediate employment. We provide an environment that encourages creativity and team collaboration. At the same time, we offer mentorship to young professionals to help them gain experience in all aspects of the design process and advance towards their professional career goals.

The ideal candidates have strong design, technical and production skills and experience coordinating complete construction document packages. Experience in public design and construction is preferred. Experience in project management is required. Applicants should be Revit savvy and be able to design, detail and work in a collaborative setting.

Ideal candidates should:

• Have completed an accredited degree in architecture.
• Possess a minimum of 10 years work experience (internships not included).
• Be a Registered Architect in at least one state.
• Be proficient in Revit. AutoCAD proficiency is a plus.
• Have strong presentation, graphic, technical, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Have strong organizational skills and be self-motivated.
• Be able to self-check their own work for accuracy as well as checking the work of others.
• Have experience managing and mentoring junior staff.
• Be flexible and able to juggle multiple concurrent projects.
• Have a current valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities would include:

• Managing projects from study, including project definition and programming, through SD, DD, contract documents, construction administration and closeout.
• Managing and mentoring junior staff.
• Researching materials and products
• Developing permitting submissions to municipal agencies.
• Coordinating consultants.
• Meeting with clients, municipal boards, and community members.
• Developing presentation materials including renderings and presenting to clients and in public forums.
• Managing time and budgets on projects under a Principal’s leadership.
• Working in a leadership capacity to problem solve and to find creative solutions.
• Developing, building, and maintaining client relationships.
• Assisting with firm marketing tasks.
