Job description
Overview

A vacancy exists for a Porter in our Pharmacy Department, based at LifeGroenkloof Hospital, reporting to the Senior Pharmacist. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring delivery of quality care in line with Company strategic objectives and applicable Health/Nursing legislation.

Responsibilities
  • To collect and record all prescription cards, credits and requisitions from the wards.
  • To deliver prescription cards with medication and credits to the wards safely and accurately.
  • To ensure medication is delivered to the correct ward and the relevant ward staff member records their signature on receipt.
  • To record and deliver ethical and surgical stock to wards safely, securely and timeously.
  • Assist with lifting and picking of stock/boxes for distribution to wards/theatres.
  • Maintenance of the Pharmacy including cleanliness and neatness of the Pharmacy.
  • General administrative functions as requested.
Requirements
  • Grade 12
  • Willingness to work shifts, weekends, public holidays in accordance with the requirements of the hospital
  • Understanding of the private healthcare industry; its challenges and role players would be an advantage
  • Good interpersonal skills, the ability to deal with people and be in the frontline
  • Previous experience in a similar environment
