Job description

Part-time Housekeeper/Cook Job in Angel, North London

A lovely family near Angel station is seeking an experienced, proactive part-time Housekeeper/Cook for their modern, four-floor, three-bedroom home. The household consists of a couple with two children, aged 3 and 6, and a third child due in the summer. The family also employs a cleaner who comes once a week for deep cleaning, so this role focuses on maintaining the home to a high standard, family cooking, and light childcare support.

The position is suited to someone warm, kind, and intuitive, with a genuine enjoyment of working with young children. The family is relaxed and informal and is seeking someone with a friendly presence who can take initiative and work efficiently.

Duties to include:

  • Cleaning, tidying, and ironing
  • Keeping on top of family laundry
  • Preparing afternoon snacks for the children
  • Cooking dinner for the family – simple family dishes
  • Occasional childcare support (1–2 times per week for approximately one hour)
  • Occasional nursery/school pick-up (within walking distance)
  • Providing support at home with the newborn when required

The mother wishes to work with the housekeeper on weekly meal planning. Grocery shopping is handled online, and there are no specific dietary restrictions.

The ideal candidate should be organised, proactive, and confident in managing household tasks independently, while also being flexible and supportive with the children when needed. Experience with young children and newborns would be a plus.

Holidays are shared equally when the family is away.

The house has wooden floors, so careful attention to detail is essential.
