Production Manager

A nutraceutical facility in the West Rand requires the services of a dynamic Production Manager.

We are seeking a candidate with a robust background in manufacturing, particularly within the nutraceutical or pharmaceutical industry.

As the Production Manager, you will lead a team of production staff, ensuring the seamless execution of daily operations to deliver high-quality products that meet customer requirements.

This role demands a self-motivated professional with strong analytical skills, technical acumen, and knowledge of cGMP.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Co-ordinates in planning and organizing the manufacturing processes of the company.
  • Plan the short and medium term needs of customers.
  • Develop and maintain a monthly production schedule.
  • Manage output of factory to ensure schedules are met.
  • Exercise prudent control over operational manpower and expenditures.
  • Establish and attain production metrics to ensure both internal and external customer requirements are met.
  • Continually monitor cGMP compliance and address any shortcomings immediately.
  • Facilitate cross departmental communication and maintain intradepartmental relations with QA, QC, Stores, Engineering, and Production.
  • Develop and maintain training program for GMP, SOP and Job Function training.
  • Constant review of policies and procedures to ensure relevance and compliance.
  • Assist with validation program.
  • Ensures that all standard yields are maintained by production lines.
  • Controls production process and production facilities.
  • Monitor and control the general cleanliness, hygienic conditions and maintenance of the factory.
  • Ensures that all production equipment is maintained in good working order.
  • Ensures that there is discipline and good working culture among the staff.
  • Prepares daily output reports and monthly production reports.
  • Maintain high levels of safety within factory environment.
  • Demonstrate adeptness in troubleshooting production challenges and facilitating effective resolutions.
Desired Experience & Qualification
  • Bachelor's degree in pharmacy or engineering.
  • A minimum of 5 years of proven experience in manufacturing / production management within the nutraceutical or pharmaceutical industries.
  • Willingness to work extended hours and provide supervisor coverage based on business demands.
