Minimum Requirements

• Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum of 3 years relevant experience within the manufacturing industry.
• Proficiency in Solid Edge (3D CAD modelling).
• Strong background in sheet metal design and manufacturing processes.
• Proven experience in welding, phosphating, and powder coating.
• Knowledge of engineering drafting and design standards.
• Strong project management skills.
• Previous exposure in liaising with clients and internal stakeholders.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Research, develop, and design mechanical components and products using Solid Edge.
• Oversee the full design-to-production process, ensuring projects are delivered on time and meet quality standards.
• Develop and manage engineering and drafting practices in line with industry requirements.
• Provide technical expertise on sheet metal fabrication, welding, and surface treatment processes.
• Prepare accurate cost estimates and quotations for projects.
• Manage key customer accounts and provide technical support as needed.
• Supervise and coordinate design-related activities to support sales and growth objectives.
• Conduct research and development to improve products and processes.
• Ensure compliance with good drawing office practices.
• Analyse research and production data, providing insights and recommendations to management.
• Liaise with customers regularly to ensure requirements are met and provide progress updates.
• Support project management from initiation through to completion.
