The Manager of Strategic Projects works within the CEO's office where they will manage and own ongoing Bank and Discovery SA projects to delivery.
The ideal individual will be responsible for ensuring that all project are implemented in a timely manner, and in ways that are consistent with the organisational priorities, budgets and regulatory requirements.
The role will also include work in the CEO's office to support the function of the CEO including Board reporting, and management of key events.Areas of responsibility may include but are not limited to : Drive the development and implementation of products and programs for the business unitResponsible for driving the project plans and timelines within the CEO's officeDevelop and implement strategies to ensure that all tasks remain on schedule.
Manage project team and implementation meetings with staff and key stakeholdersConducts needed research and remains abreast of regulatory and market changesCommunicates information to staff and stakeholders, through trainings and written documentationDevelops written plansCreates strategy documents for the business unitResponsible for reporting to the Board and EXCO on as well as regulatory presentations and the interim / annual financial resultsOwns the results and regulatory communication within the BankDevelops progress reports and other data analyses, as appropriateCommunication with internal business owners and subject matter expertsAd hoc research, analysis and projectsDevelop presentations, reports and other strategic communicationsPersonal Attributes and SkillsExcellent communication skillsAttention to detailSimplify complex messagesInnovation / CreativityAdaptabilityCustomer service orientationInitiativeOrganisational awarenessAbility to work independently and efficientlyAbility to work under pressure and meet deadlinesAbility to recognise and resolve problems
A relevant tertiary qualification in a numerical or analytical field5 or more years relevant strategic project experiencePrevious experience with strategic projects in the banking industry will be advantageousManagement consulting in a financial services industry will be advantageousActuarial or finance background would also be advantageous
