Lecturer Position: Child and Youth Care (Department of Community Health Studies)

Applications are invited from interested person(s) for the Lecturer post in Community Health Studies. This post is open to internal and external candidates.

Minimum Requirements
  • A Masters Degree in Child and Youth Care or Master of Health Sciences with a topic covering aspects of the scope practice of Child and Youth Care
  • One year lecturing experience
  • Minimum 2 years experience working in a University
  • Current and active registration with the South African Council for Social Service Professions (SACSSP) as a Child and Youth Care Practitioner
  • Experience in supervising undergraduate research
Recommendations
  • Minimum of 2 years experience working in the Child and Youth Care field
Duties
  • Lecture undergraduate modules in Child and Youth Care
  • Demonstrate leadership in teaching research and community engagement
  • Take an active part in the supervision and assessment of undergraduate student research projects
  • Contribute to research by publishing articles and book chapters
  • Serve in committees within the University and in external professional organisations
  • Engage in community engagement and outreach
  • Undertake any other responsibility as may be assigned by the Head of Department

Salary: Market Related
