Overview

RPO Recruitment's client is looking for a Health and Safety Officer to join their team in Epping, Cape Town. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation, promoting a culture of safety, and driving safety initiatives across multiple sites.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies.
• Conduct site inspections, audits and risk assessments.
• Develop and deliver safety training and induction programs.
• Investigate incidents, near-misses and occupational diseases.
• Maintain and update emergency and safety procedures.
• Liaise with relevant authorities on safety matters (e.g. Department of Employment and Labour).
• Monitor contractors and vendors to ensure safety compliance.
• Assist in maintaining ISO 14001 and ISO 9001 systems.

Requirements

• National Diploma in Safety and / or Environmental Management or equivalent.
• Certificate in safety management (e.g. SAMTRAC NEBOSH IGC).
• 3-5 years experience in a full-time health & safety role in an industrial environment.
• Strong knowledge of the OHS Act and applicable regulations.
• Valid driver's license and own reliable transport.
