Weelee is a fast‑paced challenger brand with big ambitions and is seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Marketing to lead our marketing efforts and drive our brand and business to new heights.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Head of Marketing will be responsible for developing and executing the company’s marketing strategy and plan to increase brand awareness and reach, create campaigns and content that drive audience resonance, drive customer acquisition through leads, drive innovation within the business, and work closely with the operational teams to ensure alignment of the brand strategy across the business. This role requires a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of the South African target market, a thirst for knowledge and customer understanding, exceptional leadership skills, a flare for ideation and creative thinking, with a proven track record in managing successful marketing campaigns.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Strategic Planning:
  • Develop and implement comprehensive marketing strategies, plans and campaigns to achieve business goals and drive aggressive business growth and scale.
  • Stay abreast of current market condition, competitors and segments to identify opportunities and understand customer needs and preferences.
  • Attend weekly Management Meetings to drive the marketing strategy across the business.
  • Collaborate across the business division to identify new opportunities which align marketing strategies with business objectives.
Service Provider Management:
  • Manage and monitor Weelee’s service providers to ensure they are delivering the agreed outputs and continuously drive improvement.
  • Manage the budget, scope of work and delivery of key service providers.
Campaign Management:
  • Identify and allocate key service providers to deliver against campaign objectives.
  • Oversee the creation and execution of innovative marketing campaigns across multiple channels, including digital, social media, print, and events.
  • Analyse and measure the effectiveness of marketing campaigns, making data‑driven decisions to optimize performance.
Brand Management:
  • Lead brand positioning and messaging to ensure consistency and strengthen brand identity.
  • Create and manage the brand messaging matrix and drive this across the business and with service providers.
  • Manage Weelee’s positive public standing through PR efforts and maintain favourable media relations.
  • Ensure the Weelee brand is represented accurately and consistently across all external and internal communication channels.
Team Leadership:
  • Build, mentor, and lead a high‑performing marketing team.
  • Drive ideation and collaboration across the business departments.
Budget Management:
  • Prepare and manage the marketing budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and funds.
  • Track and report on marketing expenditures and ROI.
Partnerships and Collaboration:
  • Establish and maintain strategic partnerships with agencies, vendors, and other third‑party organizations.
  • Align with sales, product development, and customer service teams to ensure cohesive and customer‑centric marketing efforts.
  • Ensure partners collaborate and report on the brand with a united perspective of the brands performance.
Digital Marketing:
  • Lead digital marketing initiatives, including SEO, SEM, email marketing, and content marketing.
  • Stay abreast of digital marketing trends and technologies to keep the company at the forefront of the industry.
