Minimum Requirements
- Qualification: Chartered Accountant CA(SA) with a valid certificate from SAICA.
- Experience: Minimum 5+ years post‑qualification experience.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS, the Companies Act, and Prudential Authority regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Strategy & Leadership
- Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with organizational objectives.
- Provide strategic financial input to the CEO and Board of Directors.
- Lead long‑term financial planning and capital allocation decisions.
- Identify and evaluate new business opportunities and potential risks.
Financial Management & Reporting
- Oversee all financial operations.
- Management of the reinsurance program.
- Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting in compliance with IFRS and relevant regulations.
- Present financial results and recommendations to the Board and stakeholders.
- Maintain robust internal controls and financial governance frameworks.
- Responsible for the IT environment – improvement, security, support, infrastructure – through outsourced service provider for technical expertise.
Treasury & Risk Management
- Manage cash flow, working capital and banking relationships.
- Implement comprehensive risk management strategies.
- Ensure adequate insurance coverage and risk mitigation measures.
Compliance & Governance
- Ensure compliance with Companies Act, Tax legislation and industry‑specific regulations.
- Responsible for all statutory returns preparation and submission.
- Main point of contact with the Prudential Authority (Reserve Bank).
- Responsible for review of new Prudential standards and submission of comments thereon.
- Coordinate external audits and liaise with auditors, SARS and regulatory bodies.
- Responsible for financial statements preparation and audit (internal and external) coordination.
- Maintain corporate governance standards and policies.
- Oversee tax planning and ensure optimal tax efficiency.
Team Leadership
- Build, mentor and develop a high‑performing finance team.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
- Collaborate effectively with other executives and department heads.
