A growing logistics and machinery firm is seeking a Financial Accountant to ensure financial integrity through accurate reporting and compliance. This role involves managing financial operations, preparing reports, and providing insights for strategic growth. The ideal candidate holds a degree in Accounting with AGA(SA) or SAIPA designation and has at least 2-3 years of relevant experience. Competitive salary of R 37,500 - R 46,000 per month offered.

The Financial Accountant will safeguard financial integrity through accurate reporting, IFRS and statutory compliance, and strong oversight of core finance functions, while providing insights to support strategic decision-making and growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage general ledger, payables, receivables, and inventory; ensure accounting policies and processes are aligned with best practices.
  • Direct budgeting, financial projects, and operational expenses while maintaining strong internal controls.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly financial reports; coordinate statutory accounts; ensure IFRS and statutory compliance.
  • Maintain relationships with bankers and financial stakeholders, ensuring effective communication.
  • Oversee receivables, manage fixed assets, and provide audit support with required documentation and analysis.
  • Support leadership with financial insights, contribute to business success, and undertake special projects when needed.
Skills & Knowledge Requirements:
  • Strong ERP skills (D365 preferred); capable of using financial software and statistical modelling.
  • Up-to-date with IFRS and local tax/regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable insights.
  • Self-motivated, able to work independently, while supporting leadership decision-making.
  • Strong ability to explain financial insights, analyze budgets, and propose practical solutions.
Key Performance Indicators:
  • Accurate and timely preparation of monthly management accounts and ledger reconciliations.
  • Compliance with all statutory deadlines; timely completion of audits and tax filings.
  • Maintain an accurate fixed assets register, reconcile inventory, manage receivables within contract terms, and ensure timely invoicing.
  • Act as a liaison with other departments and support colleagues effectively.
  • Propose continuous improvements to finance processes and systems.

Salary:
  • R 37,500 - R 46,000 per month CTC, depending on the candidate
