Executive Director (LSSA) position available in Pretoria.
The main purpose of the job is to direct the development of short- and long-term objectives, policies, budgets, and operating plans for the organization. Ensure effective governance and business management in alignment with strategic goals.
Five year fixed term contract.
Salary: R1,2m CTC – R2m CTC Annually.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Business Management & Direction
- Develop an effective policy formulation structure utilizing management teams, committees, and stakeholders.
- Provide strategic direction and ensure alignment with the organization’s vision, mission, and values.
- Oversee the implementation of approved strategies and corporate policies.
- Advise Exco and the House of Constituents on policy issues.
- Ensure continuous evaluation and integration of new policies after necessary approvals.
- Business Management
- Oversee statutory and general business management.
- Ensure overall management of employees and organizational affairs.
- Establish effective reporting structures within operational areas.
- Provide financial oversight, ensuring sound budgeting, financial controls, and cash flow management.
- Develop and maintain an effective organizational structure that aligns with strategic objectives.
- Drive employment equity, transformation, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Human Capital & Performance Management
- Implement performance management systems and ensure regular performance reviews.
- Establish and maintain a culture of trust, innovation, and professional excellence.
- Ensure remuneration structures support a positive work environment and reward performance.
- Develop succession planning for senior management.
- Oversee training, retraining, and skills development initiatives.
- Stakeholder Engagement & Communication
- Establish open communication channels with internal and external stakeholders.
- Represent the organization in media, public, and professional settings.
- Liaise with attorneys, policymakers, and industry stakeholders.
- Maintain international relationships and stay informed on global legal developments.
- Risk Management & Compliance
- Ensure a structured risk management framework.
- Regularly review and update the risk register.
- Leadership & Representation
- Provide visionary leadership and promote professional, objective-oriented culture.
- Represent the organization in professional and governmental forums.
- Foster relationships with relevant legal and professional bodies at national and international levels.
Role Requirements:
- A law degree, preferably an admitted attorney.
- MBA or similar postgraduate qualification (advantageous).
- Minimum of 10 years’ executive leadership experience in business or organizational management.
- Strong understanding of legal profession structure and governance.
- Proficiency in English (written and verbal).
