Overview

A vacancy exists for an Enrolled Nurse Auxiliary, based at Life Knysna Private Hospital, reporting to Nonhlanhla Langeni, Unit Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring delivery of uncompromising quality care in line with company strategic objectives and applicable health/nursing legislation.

Responsibilities

  • Delivery of market-leading evidenced-based holistic clinical care within the scope of practice.
  • Establish effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders to enhance and optimise business growth.
  • Participate and collaborate with all members of the team to foster a healthy and positive working environment that actively promotes a joint performance and value-based culture.
  • Effective people management – interacting and communicating with a multi-disciplinary team.

Financial and resource management

  • Delivery of cost-effective care across all business processes within the agreed budgetary parameters.
  • Optimal and efficient resource utilization as per agreed budget parameters.
  • Optimal and appropriate product utilisation including pharmaceuticals, equipment and sundries.
  • Control and manage labour hours in accordance with company policy.

Clinical Excellence

  • Deliver the highest level of quality care benchmarked against international standards for quality and safety.
  • Participate to meet Patient Experience, Clinical and Safety (Patient and Employee) outcomes targets in accordance with Life Healthcare standards.
  • Report any customer complaints and adverse events and participate in the investigation within the allocated timeframes.

Operational Responsibilities

  • Conduct all allocated tasks delegated by the Unit Manager/Shift Leader/Senior Registered Nurse.
  • Ensure quality management systems and initiatives are conducted according to company policy.
  • Promote a safe and healthy working environment.
  • Enforce infection prevention principles as per company policy.

Communication

  • Establish lifelong partnerships with customers and stakeholders to promote Life Healthcare as the preferred hospital of choice.
  • Demonstrate effective communication skills and engage in collaborative team dynamics.

Requirements

  • Qualification as an Enrolled Nurse Auxiliary and Registration with SANC.
  • Compliance with the SANC code of conduct for an Enrolled Nurse Auxiliary and all applicable healthcare legislation.
  • 1 year post-qualification experience in an ICU environment.
  • Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS).
  • Participative and collaborative with all team members to foster a healthy and positive working environment that promotes a joint performance and value-based culture.
  • Updated knowledge of legislation, industrial relations, standards, codes, ethics and competency standards.
  • Updated knowledge of relevant pathophysiology, anatomy and diseases to render care.
  • Ability to work shifts according to hospital operational requirements.
  • Computer proficiency.
