Job summary

A mechanical components manufacturer is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Team Leader to oversee the Mechanical Design, R&D, and Drawing Office functions. The ideal candidate will have at least 8 years of experience in mechanical design, including 3 years in a management role. Responsibilities include leading design documentation, overseeing R&D initiatives, and managing CAD/PDM systems. The compensation package ranges from R850K to R1.2m CTC per annum.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 8 years experience in mechanical design in manufacturing, including at least 3 years in a management role.
• Extensive experience in mechanical product development and ISO 9001 design documentation compliance.
• Experience with CAD and ERP system integration.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design and documentation for assemblies and components
• Oversee R&D initiatives, including prototyping, testing, and innovation
• Manage the Drawing Office, including CAD/PDM systems, drawing standards, BOMs, and ERP integration
• Drive cross-functional project engineering and ISO‑aligned processes
• Mentor and lead technical teams across multiple engineering functions

Qualifications

• BSc/BEng/BTech Mechanical Engineering

Skills

• A minimum of 8 years experience in mechanical design in manufacturing, including at least 3 years in a management role
• Extensive experience in mechanical product development, CAD/PDM systems, ERP integration, and ISO 9001 design documentation compliance
