An Electrical Contracting firm based in Somerset West is urgently hiring an Electrical Engineer. The role involves planning, leading, and controlling electrical activities to ensure a reliable power supply. Candidates should have a tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering with a wireman’s qualification being advantageous and at least 4 years of experience in a similar position, preferably in a shopping centre environment. The salary is R32,000 per month.

Job description

Our client, an Electrical Contracting firm based in Somerset West, urgently requires the services of an Electrical Engineer.

Main job function

To plan, lead, organise and control all electrical related activities i.e. maintenance, projects, operational support and local utility supply interface for continuous business operations.

Ensure a reliable electrical power supply to the various operational and other areas for continuous business operations.

Establish and ensure compliance of appropriate engineering standards for safety and legal purposes.

Ensure that all duties required by the OHS Act are conducted for safety and legal compliance.

Maintain a positive interface with the local utility supplier, Contractors and other external parties to ensure a reliable supply of high quality electrical power.

Initiate and implement electrical projects to enhance and maintain the electrical infrastructure.

Qualifications

Tertiary qualification in the field of Electrical Engineering

Wireman’s qualification would be advantageous

Experience/Criteria

Minimum of 4 years in a similar position

Previous experience in a Shopping centre/Mall environment would be advantageous

Must be able to work unsupervised

Salary

R32’000 Per month
