Business Development Manager (Agriculture)

Job Function:

  • Promote an awareness of The Company in the market.
  • Business Development - Identify and target new business opportunities within the agriculture vertical.
  • Responsible for achieving sales target through lead generation, prospecting, client meetings, drawing up of proposals, estimates, presentations, etc.
  • Identify and target sales opportunities at low, medium, and high levels.
  • Formulate strategy to successfully win new business and, in doing so, increase market share.
  • Opening of new business accounts according to the applicable procedure.
  • Creating and implementing SOPs, SLAs, and other related documents.
  • Weekly and monthly reporting as required internally and to clients.
  • Regular meetings for the purpose of new business or servicing existing business.
  • Managing (CRM System) according to applicable requirements.
  • Rate negotiation with suppliers where required in order to procure the best rate for specific client requirements.
  • Handling of queries (operational, financial, or other).
  • Create awareness and understanding of industry vertical information, requirements, and general knowledge.
  • Keep abreast of industry changes, information, and skill requirements.
  • Any other delegated tasks deemed reasonable as assigned by the reporting manager.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

  • 3 years or more proven sales track record required.
  • Strong understanding of the agriculture sector and its unique logistics needs.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret financial information, including budgets, financial statements, and P&L data.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software.

  • Ability to work within a target-driven and pressured environment.
