Job summary

A large industry group is looking for a Business Development Manager to drive sales in Pretoria, South Africa. The role requires a strong commercial acumen, expertise in B2B sales, and experience with CRM software. Responsibilities include identifying business opportunities, developing sales strategies, and managing client relationships. Candidates must have a Matric qualification, and a tertiary qualification in Business Marketing or HR Management is advantageous. Valid driver's license and travel flexibility are required.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and secure new business opportunities.
  • Develop and execute sales strategies to meet revenue targets.
  • Prepare proposals and quotations aligned with compliance frameworks.
  • Represent the company at industry events.
  • Manage and grow strategic accounts.
  • Conduct regular client review meetings.
  • Negotiate contract renewals and extensions.
  • Work with Operations and Recruitment teams.
  • Lead and motivate the sales team.
  • Analyze market trends and competitor activity.
  • Provide detailed weekly and monthly reports.

  • A large group in the Services industry is looking for a Business Development Manager to drive sales
Minimum Requirements
  • Matric (Grade 12)
  • Tertiary qualification in Business Marketing or HR Management advantageous
  • Excellent understanding of TES compliance labour legislation and BCEA
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to structure profitable deals
  • CRM software proficiency (e.g. Salesforce HubSpot or similar)
  • Valid drivers license and own reliable vehicle
  • Flexibility to travel
Responsibilities
  • Identify pursue and secure new business opportunities across key sectors (industrial manufacturing logistics mining construction and corporate)
  • Develop and execute comprehensive sales strategies to meet or exceed revenue and profit targets
  • Prepare proposals quotations and tender documents aligned with company pricing and compliance frameworks
  • Represent the company at industry events trade shows and networking sessions to increase visibility
  • Manage and grow strategic accounts to ensure long-term partnerships
  • Conduct regular Client review meetings to ensure satisfaction and contract compliance
  • Negotiate contract renewals and extensions to maximise revenue retention
  • Work closely with Operations and Recruitment teams to deliver exceptional service and resolve Client issues
  • Lead coach and motivate a high-performing Sales or Business Development team
  • Set clear objectives monitor KPIs and drive accountability across the sales function
  • Promote a results-driven Client-centric culture
  • Analyse market trends competitor activity and pricing strategies
  • Provide detailed weekly and monthly reports on sales performance forecasts and pipeline status
  • Recommend data-driven strategies to improve competitiveness and profitability
