Job summary

A prominent accounting firm in Cape Town is seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to manage the full bookkeeping functions. Candidates must have a minimum of 3-5 years of experience and a strong background in Pastel Accounting. Qualifications

  • Maintain full books to trial balance and balance sheet standard.
  • Process daily financial transactions.
  • Capture and reconcile supplier invoices and statements.
  • Manage debtors and ensure timely collection.
  • Prepare month-end reports and assist with audit requirements.

BOOKKEEPER
Minimum skills and experience required :
  • Minimum 3-5 years bookkeeping experience
  • Strong Pastel Accounting experience (non-negotiable)
  • Experience in property development / real estate advantageous
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles
  • Strong reconciliation skills
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
  • Good communication and organisational skills
Duties and Responsibilities :
  • Maintain full books to trial balance and balance sheet standard
  • Process daily financial transactions, including cashbook, journals and general ledger
  • Capture and reconcile supplier invoices, statements, and payments
  • Manage debtors and ensure timeous collection
  • Perform bank, supplier, and customer reconciliations
  • Prepare month-end reports and assist with the audit requirements
  • Process VAT, PAYE, UIF and ensure statutory compliance
  • Support the finance team with ad hoc financial and administrative tasks
  • Maintain accurate records for multiple property-related projects
  • Track expenses, budgets, and cash flow where required
