Description

We are looking for an Audit Senior to join the team at EQ, part of the Sumer Group, working in a hybrid model based at the 123 Consulting office in Johannesburg. You will collaborate closely with colleagues in the UK to support SME clients through audit delivery and wider client service.

As an Audit Senior, you'll be client facing (alongside UK based colleagues), helping to plan and deliver audits from start to finish while coaching junior auditors and ensuring we maintain our reputation for quality, rigour and responsiveness.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and lead audits across a variety of sectors
  • Review work of junior team members and provide feedback
  • Identify audit issues and discussing solutions with managers & partners
  • Preparing statutory financial statements and related documentation
  • Stay up to date with evolving audit standards
  • Support the development of team knowledge and audit best practice
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
  • Professional qualification - ACCA, ACA (including newly qualified)
  • At least 2 years general practice experience, ideally with SME clients
  • Demonstrate experience of auditing in accordance with UK audit and accounting standards (FRS 102) is essential
  • A sharp eye for risk and detail and a structured approach to planning and reviewing work
  • Confident communicator, good listener and positive influence in a team
  • Proficient in audit software and MS Office
  • Ability to manage multiple engagements and meet tight deadlines with professionalism and care
