Overview

An innovative company in the medical devices / digital health industry is looking for a detail-driven Accountant to manage core accounting duties up to trial balance. This role will support the Financial Manager with daily and monthly accounting processes, financial reporting, and statutory compliance, offering strong exposure across the finance function.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the full accounting function up to trial balance, including debtors, creditors, and general ledger entries.
  • Reconcile accounts for month-end close including income statements, balance sheets, and commission reports.
  • Process and manage all bank, credit card, and forex transactions.
  • Oversee VAT reports and assist with statutory submissions and audits.
  • Administer customer invoicing, credit notes, payment allocations, and collections.
  • Conduct supplier reconciliations and ensure timely and accurate payments.
  • Assist with inventory stock takes and fixed asset register updates.
  • Maintain compliance with accounting procedures and QMS standards.
Minimum Requirements
Education
  • Essential : B.Com Accounting or related financial degree
  • Preferred : Honours in Accounting
Experience
  • At least 1 year post-articles experience, or
  • 3+ years accounting experience without articles
Desirable
  • Articles completed at an accounting firm
Skills and Competencies
  • Knowledge of accounting software (e.g., Pastel or Xero)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
