Job summary
A tax advisory firm based in Singapore seeks a Tax Advisor to handle corporate tax matters, provide compliance and advisory services, and act as a key contact for clients. Ideal candidates will have at least 3 years of relevant experience, a degree in finance or accounting, and strong knowledge of Singapore tax laws. The role includes analyzing tax issues, liaising with IRAS, and mentoring junior staff, offering a dynamic work environment and opportunities for growth.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of relevant tax experience in advisory firms or accounting firms.
- Experience with Singapore corporate tax matters and direct dealings with IRAS.
- Strong technical knowledge of Singapore tax legislation is a must.
Responsibilities
- Handle full spectrum of Corporate Income Tax matters.
- Prepare and review tax submissions, computations, and filings.
- Liaise with IRAS on audits and compliance issues.
- Provide practical tax advice and support for clients.
Skills
Education
- Handle full spectrum of Corporate Income Tax (CIT) matters
- Prepare and review: Estimated Chargeable Income (ECI), Corporate Income Tax computations and Form C / Form C-S submissions
- Review and advise on individual income tax filings (where applicable)
- Handle GST reporting, submissions, and IRAS queries
- Provide tax advisory support on: Tax efficiency and planning, Withholding tax matters and IRAS compliance and audit matters
- Liaise directly with IRAS on audits, clarifications, objections, and correspondence
- Handle tax audits, investigations, and follow-up matters
- Ensure compliance with Singapore tax laws and latest regulatory updates
- Act as key tax contact for assigned clients
- Provide practical tax advice to SMEs and group structures
- Review junior staff’s tax work and provide technical guidance
- Support management on complex tax or structuring matters
- Provide technical input for corporate restructuring, M&A, or restructuring exercises
- Assist in improving internal tax workflows and compliance processes
- Mentor junior tax/accounting staff
- Minimum 3 years of relevant tax experience
- Prior experience in: Tax advisory firms / accounting firms / professional services and Handling Singapore corporate tax matters independently
- Experience dealing directly with IRAS is essential
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- ACCA / ISCA / CPA / CTA (SIATP) preferred
- Strong technical knowledge of Singapore tax legislation
- Strong knowledge of: Singapore Corporate Tax, GST, Withholding Tax and Tax compliance & advisory
- Familiar with IRAS e-filing systems
- Good working knowledge of accounting standards
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Confident in advising clients independently
- Good communication and presentation skills
- High level of professionalism and integrity
- Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines
