Job description
Job Purpose

The Executive/Senior Engineers in the Component Servicing Centre (CSC) shall be responsible to ensure safe, quality and optimized operations of the workshops to support the MKBF reliability target of the SMRT Trains. The CSC is responsible for the diagnostics and testing as well as repair and overhaul of mechanical, electrical and electronic components of the trains and other related systems. The engineer shall be required to independently plan, schedule, coordinate and optimize workshop activities and manage safety, supervision and welfare of the work teams.

Responsibilities
  1. Work in any SMRT Maintenance Depots or facilities and comply with all Safety Requirements.
  2. Work in rotating or fixed shifts.
  3. Assist the Section Manager for the management, supervision and safety of the work teams in the Component Servicing Center. He shall manage staff welfare, participate in hand‑on works and implement safety improvement initiatives.
  4. Assist the Section Manager for the planning, scheduling, coordination and optimization of workshop resources and activities to ensure that production, quality, reliability and safety KPIs are met and support the MKBF reliability target of the SMRT Trains.
  5. Perform hands‑on troubleshooting of faults, technical investigation, failure trend analysis and liaise with key stakeholders including maintenance, engineering, system management departments and LTA to develop and implement technical solutions and modifications.
  6. Review Work Instructions and Risk Assessments to ensure relevance and adequacy.
  7. Work with Engineering and System Management Departments to perform obsolescence management for the workshop.
  8. Responsible to perform continuous improvement initiative to enhance the capability and quality of the workshop.
  9. Responsible to Section Manager to ensure that internal processes are in place and enforced in accordance with policies, procedures, circulars and manuals stipulated in SMRT Trains.
  10. Perform other tasks as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications & Work Experience

Degree in Mechanical / Electrical / Electronics Engineering or equivalent from a recognised institution.

Experience in railway or component servicing works would be advantageous.

Skills

Strong leadership and interpersonal skills. Comfortable to work hands‑on in a maintenance workshops environment alongside other Engineers, Assistant Engineers and Technical Officers.

Able to work independently and as a team effectively adjusting oneself flexibly to different work situations.

Fluent in written and oral communication skills in English.
