Senior Managing Consultant, Retail and Commerce, Advisors & Consulting Services, Strategy and Transformation

Mastercard Advisors comprises three business units with distinct P&Ls: Consulting Services, Information Services, and Managed Services. These are supported by various functions including Advanced Analytics, Marketing, IT, Data Acquisition, HR, Finance, Operations, Law, and Project Management.

Consulting Services combines professional problem-solving with deep payments expertise to address client challenges, enhance Mastercard's performance, and establish thought leadership.

Information Services monetizes Mastercard’s data assets directly.

Managed Services provides executional services and solutions leveraging Mastercard’s data and analytical capabilities for clients of all sizes.

Role Description and Major Responsibilities

Senior Managing Consultant, Retail and Commerce - Strategy & Transformation

Our team offers data analysis and strategic services to Fortune 500s, governments, and nonprofits to support major business decisions and growth. We combine management consulting with Mastercard’s data assets and technology platforms to deliver insights and recommendations across various industries, including banking, payments, retail, and restaurants.

The group has five specializations: Strategy & Transformation, Performance Analytics, Business Experimentation, Marketing, and Program Management. Consultants lead clients through strategic and operational challenges, applying problem-solving techniques to improve performance.

Roles and Responsibilities

Client Impact

• Lead engagements in Retail and Commerce sectors, including e-commerce, FMCG, Malls, Conglomerates, and Airlines
• Create compelling narratives and presentations for new business pitches
• Collaborate with business development for effective market entry and value delivery
• Manage relationships with mid to senior client stakeholders, assessing client needs and change readiness
• Develop strategies leveraging data and technology to unlock client value

Team Collaboration & Culture

• Guide teams to generate insights and recommendations, delivering impactful presentations
• Lead project teams and foster a collaborative environment
• Coordinate with Mastercard stakeholders to scope projects and develop solutions
• Mentor junior consultants and promote skill development

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with experience in consulting, strategy, business intelligence, or product management
• Experience with retail, e-commerce, or related consultancy preferred
• Proven ability to manage teams and client relationships
• Knowledge of KPIs, financials, and organizational leadership
• Skills in problem-solving, numerical analysis, and communication
• Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint
• Eligible to work and travel as required

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in innovation or industry-specific expertise
• MBA or Master’s degree preferred
