Job summary
A manufacturing company in Singapore is seeking a Procurement Specialist to manage purchasing and negotiate with suppliers. The ideal candidate will have a diploma in supply chain, at least 3 years of experience, and strong negotiation skills. Responsibilities include managing orders, liaising with departments, and driving cost-reduction initiatives in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong negotiation skills and vendor sourcing capabilities.
- Detailed-oriented and able to perform under pressure.
Responsibilities
- Manage purchase orders from creation to delivery ensuring timely delivery.
- Liaise closely with internal departments to provide effective procurement support.
- Drive cost reduction initiatives through negotiation and logistics optimization.
Skills
Education
- Sourcing quotations, negotiate price, terms and contracts with suppliers to achieve the best value for the company.
- Drive cost reduction initiatives by leveraging negotiation, value engineering, logistics optimization, and other innovative approaches to ensure total cost competitiveness.
- Manage purchase orders from creation to delivery, including order tracking and resolve any supply chain issues that may arise.
- Proactively monitor and expedite orders to ensure timely delivery of purchase parts and materials.
- Liaise closely with internal department including Sales, Manufacturing, Finance, Engineering and Logistics to understand operational needs and provide effective procurement support.
- Minimum Diploma in Purchasing/Supply Chain or equivalent
- At least 3 years of relevant experience in manufacturing environment
- Strong negotiation and vendor sourcing skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and working knowledge of SAP or similar ERP systems
- A proactive team player with the ability to work independently
- Detailed-oriented, confident, meticulous and able to perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment
