Senior Instrumentation/Controls Engineer
Job summary
A leading engineering firm in Singapore is seeking a Senior Instrumentation Controls Engineer. This role requires at least 7 years of experience in I&C Engineering, particularly in oil & gas processing facilities. Responsibilities include preparing instrument specifications, performing technical evaluations, and reviewing mechanical packages. Candidates must possess a degree in Electronic/Control Systems Engineering and have strong knowledge of Hexagon SPI. Excellent communication and leadership skills are essential for success in this position.
Qualifications
- Minimum 7 years of experience in I&C Engineering/Design of Hydrocarbon or Offshore Oil & Gas Processing Facilities.
- Working knowledge of Hexagon SPI as admin or super user is highly preferred.
- Good knowledge of control system architecture and functionality.
Responsibilities
- Prepare field instrument specifications, datasheets, and procurement documents.
- Perform technical evaluation of field instruments.
- Review instrumentation in mechanical packages and provide inputs.

- Prepare field instrument specifications, datasheets, and procurement documents
- Perform technical evaluation of field instruments like control valves, shutdown valves, flow instruments, level instruments, pressure instruments, analyzers, etc.
- Prepare instrument list, IO list, and other deliverables from Hexagon SPI/AVEVA instrumentation
- Prepare control narratives, cause & effect, system block diagrams
- Review instrumentation in mechanical packages and provide inputs, perform vendor offer evaluation, vendor drawing review, etc.
- Provide ICSS-related inputs to the ICSS Package Lead
- Participate in HAZOP, LOPA, KOM, design reviews, testing, etc.
- Degree in Electronic/Control Systems/Instrumentation Engineering
- Minimum 7 years of experience in I&C Engineering/Design of Hydrocarbon or Offshore (preferred) Oil & Gas Processing Facilities, Wellhead platforms
- Working knowledge of Hexagon SPI, either as admin or super user, is highly preferred
- Good knowledge of control system architecture and functionality
- Possess good communication skills and leadership qualities
- Ability to understand client and project requirements and meet the project expectations in terms of quality and schedule
