Job summary
A government health agency in Singapore is seeking a candidate for their Biology Division, focusing on DNA profiling for criminal investigations. Key responsibilities include performing DNA tests, assisting in technology development, and managing laboratory duties. The ideal candidate should have a background in Biology or related fields, have completed a laboratory research project, and possess strong communication skills. Candidates who are shortlisted will be contacted within 30 days.
Qualifications
- Must have completed a supervised laboratory research project in the biochemistry or molecular biology area.
Responsibilities
- Perform DNA tests under the supervision of scientists.
- Assist in developing and validating new technologies and methods.
- Help with laboratory administrative duties including equipment maintenance.
- Conduct quality assurance duties such as checking expiry dates.
Skills
Education
As a member of the Biology Division of the Applied Sciences Group, you will play a critical role in DNA profiling of reference samples for criminal investigation.
- Perform DNA tests under the scientists’ supervision.
- Assist scientists in developing/validating new technologies/methods.
- Assist in laboratory administrative duties such as equipment maintenance, inventory, purchase of consumables, and preparation of laboratory reagents/supplies.
- Assist in laboratory quality assurance duties such as checking for expiry dates and conduct of basic performance checking tests.
- Background in Biology/Biomedical Science/Biotechnology (or equivalent) is a must
- Successfully completed supervised laboratory research project in biochemistry/molecular biology area.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team
