Occupation Description :

The Outlet Manager bears the overall responsibility for the profitability of the chain restaurant outlet. He / she performs outlet-level support functions, such as customer service, scheduling, handling day‑to‑day operations, cashiering, closing of the till, ordering inventory, and back‑office support.

He / She oversees recruitment, training and motivation of staff, and maintains quality control, hygiene, and health and safety standards in the café. This includes managing inventories and interacting with customers, wait staff and support employees to maximize revenue generation and consistently enhance the customer experience.

He / She needs to be diligent, dedicated, and enthusiastic, possess exceptional interpersonal skills, and be someone who can maintain composure in stressful situations.

Food and Beverage Production :

  • Maintain cost management of menu and educate team on P&L to attain profit margin
  • Maintain the quality of product and service & cost control
  • Ensure quality control is being done for shift and throughout shift
Leadership and People Development :
  • Facilitate effective communication and engagement at the workplace
  • Monitor team efficiency and flow of service; troubleshoot issues that arise at work
  • Lead team to manage an agile way of working cross‑functionally and with respect
  • Training of team in service and product knowledge & team management encouraging team spirit and a positive workspace
  • Maintain channel of communication and business development between head office and café
  • Conduct staff performance and assessment
  • Develop and create growth opportunities for team through capability development
Innovate :
  • Contribute to innovation process within own scope of work in the business unit
  • Foster service innovation and menu improvement with head office
  • Strong learning spirit; attend workshops and training; stay updated on specialty coffee knowledge
Risk Management / Site Outlet and Equipment Management :
  • Maintain personal hygiene and upkeep of cleanliness
  • Facilitate compliance with legislative and regulatory requirements
  • Manage compliance with SFA / F&B hygiene and procedures
  • Manage site / outlet and equipment maintenance
Planning & Implementation :
  • Administer purchasing and receiving procedures
  • Implement loss / risk prevention
  • Provide information for management decision making
  • Scheduling, manage employees’ hours and conflicts
Sales :
  • Generates sales by equipping customers with knowledge that helps them to drink better coffee and create a lifestyle of coffee
  • Assist customers in choosing the right products and coffees to buy that they will want to come back for your knowledge and your service and make them feel appreciated
  • Look for opportunity to grow sales for business
Inventory :
  • Keep supplies replenished and ensure the operation at FOH is kept at a maximum efficient teamwork
  • Maintain inventory and suppliers’ relationship
Personal Management and Development :
  • Develop self to maintain professional competence at managerial level
Education, experience & certificate requirements
  • Minimum 5 years of experience working in a fast‑pace, service‑oriented environment and prior experience as manager or senior role in the F&B industry
  • Possess a valid food handler certificate
  • Track record of training and excellence in service orientation
  • Financial literacy and ability in cost management and inventory control
  • Self‑started, motivator and possess business acumen
  • Ability to grow sales & project manage
  • A comprehensive understanding of coffee origins, coffee processing, coffee roasting, coffee extraction principles, and coffee dialing in (both drip and espresso)
  • Excellent barista skills, including knowledge of manual brewing methods, espresso brewing, milk steaming, latte art, bar flow & efficiency best practices, and proper equipment cleaning
  • Computer literacy (knowledge of Google Chromebook a plus)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Solid organizational skills with tasks, projects, and time management
  • An open mind and a positive attitude; the desire to make coffee accessible for all
  • The desire to maintain a high standard of excellence and quality within our retail coffee program
  • A passion and curiosity for coffee; always striving to learn more and to keep up with industry news and trends
  • A love of teaching and the ability to work with people from many different backgrounds and with a diverse range of abilities
