Job summary
A leading technology company based in Singapore is seeking a Medical Interpreter fluent in Mandarin or Cantonese. This 100% remote role requires handling telephonic video calls and providing interpretation services across various industries. Job Description & Requirements
Role: Medical Interpreter (Mandarin Speaker) or (Cantonese Speaker) /
Remote Language Support Specialist (Mandarin Speaker) or (Cantonese Speaker)
Language Proficiency: C1 Mandarin/Cantonese + B2/C1 English
Working Days: Monday-Sunday (rotational 2 days off day)
Working Hours: Fixed midnight shift (Supporting US market)
Working Model : 100% work from home
- Rotating permanent night shifts could be: 9pm–6am, 10pm–7am, 11pm–8am, or 7pm to 3am (with 1 hour break)
- TP will provide hardware, e.g. laptop and headset to employee
- Employee need to make sure that their internet connection speed at home is minimum 100MBPS
- Provide language interpretation from one language to another for individuals with a language barrier to understand and communicate to each other
- Handling telephone or video calls on demand and render meaning of conversations in the consecutive mode of interpretation between speakers of English
- Processes information quickly and concisely, recognizes sensitive cultural differences, and is always professional and courteous
- The interpreter will use appropriate industry terminology and understand common industry procedures and practices. The calls may involve simple or complex, non-technical or technical subjects in Healthcare, Government, Insurance, Finance, Utilities, Travel and Hospitality, 911 emergency services, Law Enforcement, Courts, and General Business.
- Excellent listening, retention and note taking skills to maintain a high level of accuracy
- Ability to concentrate, stay detached from the conversation, and always remain neutral and objective
- Ability to quickly establish personal credibility
- Ability to follow client's instructions closely
- Ability to explain certain cultural concepts to avoid miscommunication with the permission or at request of the client
- B2 CEFR English Level bilingual with other required languages
- Able to work from home on a permanent basis
