Job Description - Analyst, Business Finance, Analytics & Journey Value Capture, Group Finance (WD71963)

Business Function

Group Finance aims to deliver world-class standards in reporting, financial planning and finance processes. We provide insights and analyses that help the bank make sound business decisions – whether in the areas of product development or customer profitability. We also provide capital management, business planning, forecasting, and tax and accounting advisory services.

The is a multi-functional role that requires (1) customer level analytics because DBS has developed a methodology to measure digital value creation of digital customers, resulting in the creation of a Digital Bank P&L; (2) Business planning in the development of Scorecard KPI, to cascade & track progress; and (3) Sitting along-side our business stakeholders daily, to drive the strategic agenda.

• Drive the analysis at a customer level, the transactional behavior of digital customers.
• Reporting of the Digital Bank P&L monthly & interpretation of financial drivers.
• Assist in the development of presentations & content material for senior management meeting for Scorecard & Digital Value Capture.
• Lead the quarterly checkpoint of Digital Value Capture (P&L) and Scorecard KPI measurements.

• Engage a range of stakeholders to drive the Digital Value Capture agenda and help prepare senior stakeholders for quarterly strategic reviews.
• Daily interactions with working level stakeholders.
• From time-to-time, manage allocated staff to deliver the reporting or automation requirements.

• Support monthly business performance reports (Flash and Actuals) by forming objective insights
• Coordinate and develop appropriate performance metric/systems in support of strategic intent
• Conduct deep dives and insightful financial analytics to highlight focus areas especially in Revenue, Expenses and balance sheet through customer profiling
• Manage both local and regional business stakeholders while presenting financials to Regional business head
• Facilitate business and internal finance adhoc requests
• Participate in team initiatives including digitization, reduction of manual processes to create a more efficient workflow
• Support month-end financial closing for business
• Participate in cross functional project work and new product proposals to help drive the strategic agenda
• Assist in the coordination of annual Scorecard review & setting of Scorecard at the beginning of the year.
• Assist in the cascading of scorecard from top-of-house, down to relationship managers or individuals & continuously track/monitor the progress.
• Work with Technology or within the team to develop dashboard & automation of current processes.

• Bachelor Degree in Accountancy, Business, Economics, Statistics or any related discipline
• Experience from management consulting background (advantageous) or Business Finance background with minimum 3 years of experience.
• Strong self-motivation, with ability to function independently and effectively in a self-directed environment
• Conversant in handling high volume of data, sound knowledge of application software such as Excel and Power Point. Knowledge of Hyperion Smartview and Qlikview is a plus
• Knowledge of SQL (advantageous) & highly proficient in Excel.
• High attention to detail & willingness to continuously strive towards higher standards.
• Willingness to assist the team especially where there is a tight deadline.
