Job Role:

We are seeking a professional Category Manager – Aviation responsible for procurement of aviation-specific products and services across departments. Responsibilities include technical specification review, bidding process management, vendor selection, negotiations, and contract review and finalization.

The Category Manager – Aviation will handle procurement of items such as aircraft, engines, airport services (aircraft, cargo, baggage, passenger), aviation-specific IT systems, and third-party support services like fuel, cleaning, catering, engineering, and training. The role requires balancing quality and cost of goods and services.

General Activities:
  • Develop procurement strategies (e.g., tendering, reverse auctions).
  • Gather procurement requirements from departments or senior management.
  • Detail specifications using RFP/RFT templates.
  • Manage the RFP process for suppliers.
  • Conduct market research on new methods, suppliers, products, and cost comparisons.
  • Monitor expenditure trends for negotiation insights.
  • Plan future procurements to ensure timely delivery.
  • Manage vendor relationships and contract design.
  • Negotiate contract terms, including price, availability, customization, and delivery schedules.
  • Oversee tender processes in line with policies and procedures.
  • Interpret contract clauses and advise on contract matters.
  • Review draft contracts for compliance with policies.
  • Perform additional activities as required by business needs.
Requirements:

Professional Experience: Minimum of 5 years in aviation-specific procurement and contracts.

Academic Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Procurement, or related field.

  • Strong knowledge of global supply chain trends.
  • Excellent time management, multitasking, and prioritization skills.
