The People & Culture team
- 32 members across all our geographies
- The team has the following functions
- Talent Acquisition → Handles recruitment across all geographies and supports our business units
- People Partners → Oversees department performance and growth
- People Operations & HR → Acts as the customer service team for HQ and supports local business units
- Employee Experience → Manages employee day-to-day experience and work environments
- Content creation & employer branding → Builds our employer brand across LinkedIn & socials (Check out life@calo)
- IT & Automation → Ensures quality of tools and automates workflows

- We aim to be strategic partners, involved in setting AI adoption strategies, organizational design, performance systems, KPIs, and leveraging AI for efficiency and better employee experiences.

Calo has grown exponentially, and with an upcoming IPO, we need stronger systems for scale and foundations for continued growth, focusing on delivering a world-class employee experience.
We want to upskill our people operations team and make them drivers of change in P&C initiatives. We’re seeking a passionate leader who challenges conventional HR norms and strives to build that 10/5 star experience.
This role is based in the GCC, with frequent travel to stay close to local teams.
Scope of role
1- People Ops from A-Z
Lead and upskill the People Ops team, which includes 15 members across different countries, fostering an empathy-first culture.
2- Building a center of excellence
Establish a support function for all business units, focusing on benefits management, compliance, governance, KPIs, and continuous improvement in People Ops, including HRM systems and compliance across countries.
3- Local country strategy and governance
Support local teams in setting strategies, ensuring localization of people experience while maintaining Calo's culture.
Are you a good fit?
Experience:
- Strong with systems, auditing, compliance, and leading teams with a positive culture
- Experience leading regional teams in the GCC, with knowledge of local labor laws and market entry strategies
- Partnered with legal and finance departments
- Ownership of HRM from A-Z
- Experience in building/enhancing SOPs and ensuring compliance
