PURPOSE:

Under the guidance of the Heat, light and power maintenance Engineer, operates, maintains and repairs all aspects of the hotel’s refrigeration equipment, in accordance with IHC standards to achieve optimum operating efficiency at all times.

RELATIONSHIPS:

1. Reports to heat, Light and Power Engineer.
2. Interacts – cooperates with others in the Engineering Department.
3. Interacts – cooperates with hotel guests / outside contractors as directed.
4. Interacts with other departments when necessary to provide additional or specialized services for functions, promotions and festivities.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Attend to repairs and maintenance of all types of refrigeration equipment such as centrifugal chillers, air cooled chillers, walk in cold-room and freezer rooms and other commercial / industrial refrigeration equipment.
2. Attends to repairs and maintenance of air conditioning equipment such as window units, package units and fan coil units.
3. Carries out electric arc or oxy – acetylene welding.
4. Carries out air conditioning and refrigeration preventive and routine maintenance. Attends to repairs and maintenance of refrigeration equipment electrical control system.
5. Attends to all types of repair and maintenance work in the hotel premises, including any new additional / extensions to the hotel or any other properties maintained by the hotel.
6. Responds to guest maintenance requests within 15 minutes of receipt of the same.
7. Ensures that the supplied uniform is clean and in good repair. Always maintain a clean and tidy appearance before entering a guestroom or public areas.
8. Ensures that the plant rooms, workshops and related areas are kept in clean and tidy condition.
9. Observes prescribed safety standards. Helps maintain safe conditions for self and others.
10. Performs related duties and special projects as assigned.
