Job summary

A leading energy company in Malaysia is seeking an Electrical Maintenance Technician to assist in ensuring proper execution and maintenance of the power station. Responsibilities include carrying out maintenance activities, maintaining safety standards, and complying with SHEQ legal requirements. Candidates must have relevant diplomas or certificates in electrical engineering, with positions open to fresh graduates. This role is a 4-year fixed term contract position.

Qualifications

• Chargeman - Low voltage system (A0) required.
• Optional: Authorized Entrant and Standby Person for Confined Space (AESP).
• Open to fresh graduates for work experience.

Responsibilities

• Carry out maintenance activities including investigation of defects.
• Maintain a high safety conscious working environment.
• Ensure housekeeping is done after all work completion.
• Comply with all applicable SHEQ legal requirements.
• Perform additional tasks relevant to company objectives.

Skills

Hands on with analytical skills

Basic computer literacy

Good knowledge of EC&I Engineering practices

Able to work independently with minimum supervision

Good verbal and written English

Good verbal and written Bahasa Malaysia

Diploma in Electrical Engineering

Job description

Overview

Assist the Electrical maintenance supervisor to ensure proper execution and effective maintenance of the Power Station in accordance with safety, environmental and legal regulations.

Pro-activeness in solving problems to ensure all machineries and equipment in the plant is in tip-top condition and to minimize operation downtime.

Responsibilities

• Carry out maintenance activities including investigation of defects, analysis and rectification as directed.
• Maintain a high safety conscious working environment and ensure comply with all group policies and procedure and legislative Safety, Health & Environmental (SHE) requirements.
• Carry out and ensure housekeeping is done after completion of all work done by the job holder or by short term contractors under supervision.
• Comply with all applicable SHEQ legal requirements and our stakeholders’ specifications by establishing policies, programmes and practices in order to conduct operations in a healthy, safe and environmentally sound manner with safety first, quality foremost & pursuing excellence.
• To perform other additional tasks that are relevant and necessary to accomplishthe company overall objectives, which may be assigned from time to time.

Qualification and Competency (License)

• a) Diploma in Electrical Engineering or
• b) Diploma in Electrical & Electronic Engineering or
• c) Diploma in Electrical Power Engineering or
• d) Certificate in Electrical Engineering (Power) with 3 years working experience or
• e) Certificate in Electrical Engineering with 3 years working experience or
• f) Certificate in Electrical & Electronic Engineering with 3 years working experience.

Minimum Mandatory Competency (License) required:

• a) Chargeman - Low voltage system (A0)

Optional requirement or added advantage:

• a) Authorized Entrant and Standby Person for Confined Space (AESP)

Work Experience

Minimum years of working experience related to the work scope:

• a) open to fresh graduate.

Skills and Behaviour Traits
