A leading automotive company in Malaysia is seeking a Sr Executive/Assistant Manager for Business Development/Marketing. This role involves identifying and expanding new business opportunities, preparing proposals, and coordinating RFQs while maintaining close relationships with customers. Candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree and 5–7 years of experience in business development, particularly within automotive manufacturing. Excellent communication and analytical skills are essential, and proficiency in English and Bahasa Malaysia is required.
Support the identification, development, and expansion of new automotive business opportunities in line with the company’s strategic objectives.
Lead the preparation, review, and presentation of business proposals, RFQs, and commercial submissions to customers.
Act as the focal point for RFQ coordination by obtaining customer requirements, disseminating information internally, and ensuring timely alignment across cross-functional teams (e.g. sales, engineering, costing, production).
Perform market intelligence, competitor benchmarking, and business analysis to support management decision-making.
Coordinate and manage customer visits, audits, business meetings, and customer‑related events to ensure professional engagement and positive company image.
Liaise with government agencies, industry associations, and strategic business partners on business development–related matters.
Build, maintain, and strengthen relationships with customers and business partners, including representing the company at business functions and industry events.
Prepare reports, presentations, and updates for management on business development activities, pipeline status, and market trends.
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering, or a related discipline.
Minimum 5–7 years of experience in business development, sales, or commercial roles, preferably within the automotive manufacturing or related industries.
Hands‑on experience in managing RFQs, costing coordination, and customer negotiations.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to perform market analysis and develop business cases.
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
Experience liaising with government agencies or industry bodies will be an added advantage.
Willingness to travel and attend customer meetings, events, or business functions when required.
Good command of English and Bahasa Malaysia; proficiency in additional languages is an added advantage.
