The Category Manager is responsible for the execution of category/brand strategy at the point of sales by understanding the needs of the shoppers and applying the right category and channel planning measures.
Key Accountabilities
- Category Strategy Development: Develop and implement strategic plans to grow and manage a specific product category.
- S&OP: Work on demand planning and sales forecasting to ensure that the category’s products meet market demand. Collaborate with Supply Chain and Sales team to ensure optimal stock levels and product availability.
- Business Review/Fast Start: Help develop, drive and execute JBP with key customers.
- ABP: Work in collaboration with Lead Market to populate ABP Workstreams. Partner with Customer development team to ensure insights and category growth plans are executed with excellence.
- Innovation: Work in collaboration with Lead Market to define innovation pipeline for MY. Actively contribute to Innovation target setting and business cases.
- Lead in development & implementation of shopper & trade strategies for assigned categories to meet company sales/market share target & objectives.
- Manage & implement strategic plan for assigned categories which covers all in‑store fundamentals including assortment, pricing, in‑store visibility for home shelf and secondary displays, in‑store activation and promotion to win at POS (Lead Category Activity Grid).
- Lead category review for assigned categories to identify product/category issues and opportunities by channel with recommendations to maximize opportunities. Work in collaboration with Customer Strategy Manager to track and measure sales performance vs target, identify potential gap, review plan to close gap.
- Collaborate with marketing team to build sales promotion & product communication. Collaborate with Customer Development team to turn the “selling stories” into sales tools to effectively present the brands, products & marketing initiatives to their customers.
- Support local customer development team in execution of all the activities in achieving sales & budget activities, while ensuring the desired product benefits & brand value/ entity are properly communicated.
- To manage & control assigned categories budget thus ensure S&CM spending meets the company financial objective.
Key Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree holder
- At least 8‑10 years of experience in Sales/Shopper Marketing/Trade Marketing areas
- Category planning and delivering growth through category leadership
- Developing and delivering plans, measuring and monitoring results and making recommendations to achieve growth targets
- Stakeholder management in a matrix organization
- Analytical, strong business acumen, negotiation, customer‑oriented, presentation, result‑driven
- Able to adapt, navigate and have a protagonist role in a fast‑paced, high‑growth changing environment
- Computer literacy in MS Office, Excel
- Good command in Nielsen Advisor and data analysis is mandatory
- Good command in English both spoken and written
