Job description
Overview

This person will be responsible for underwriting administrative tasks (new application processing, participate in review meetings, and quality assurance) and pre-underwriting. They are expected to utilize knowledge in operation / medical / underwriting along with logical and analytical thinking, to ensure that the applications for enrolment and/or policy changes for individual health schemes are processed smoothly, compliant to guidelines and pre-underwritten in a consistent and accurate manner.

The purpose of the job is to ensure daily activity (like data-capture, email separation, filing, pre-underwriting, etc.) are handled smoothly and accurately as according to the guidelines and business rules, and client delivering quality outcome.

Responsibilities
  1. Perform pre-underwriting assessment on application for memberships and policy changes according to the rules and guidelines within agreed turnaround times
  2. Being familiar with the processes and guidelines and equipped with necessary medical and underwriting knowledge to achieve reasonable and evidence-based decision.
  3. Data capture, handling incoming emails from customers, preparing, and validating the underwriting letters to customers, filing documents.
  4. Prepare audit checking report and result per users to client HK underwriting team on weekly basis.
  5. Perform random checking and will provide quality checking report to client HK underwriting team on monthly basis.
Qualifications / Professional experience
  1. With 1-3 years of experience in medical/underwriting/Claims field
  2. With knowledge on medical condition/medical insurance
  3. Good problem-solving skills and logical thinking
  4. Good interpersonal and communication skills
  5. Willing and able to work under pressure with positive working attitude
  6. Strong sense of compliance, ethics, and integrity; hold self-accountable for own decisions and actions
