Senior Plastics Engineer (DFM / Injection Moulding)

When real-world product issues occur, we investigate them deeply, engineer the right solution, and prevent repeat faults. As part of our growing KL hub, we are seeking a senior mechanical engineering team leader who can guide engineers, solve problems, and oversee the technical accuracy of our instruction manuals.

Senior Plastics Engineer (DFM / Injection Moulding)

We are looking for a highly experienced plastics engineer who has spent years inside injection moulding factories and knows how to design parts that actually run fast, clean, and repeatable at scale.

This role exists to eliminate slow back-and-forth with factories, fix poor DFM upstream, and dramatically speed up tooling, sampling, and mass production.

You must speak Chinese and be comfortable traveling to China when required.

What you’ll be doing

• Own DFM for plastic injection components from concept to mass production
• Redesign parts to be globally manufacturable, not factory‑specific
• Work directly with mould makers and machine operators to solve issues fast
• Reduce tooling revisions, sampling cycles, and production delays
• Review and correct wall thickness, draft, ribs, gates, flow, shrinkage, tolerance stack‑ups
• Make rapid decisions without endless iteration
• Act as the technical bridge between design teams and factories

What we’re looking for

• Fluent in Mandarin Chinese and English
• Willing and able to travel to China when needed
• 8+ years hands‑on experience in plastic injection moulding factories
• Deep experience with moulds, machines, materials, and tooling constraints
• Strong DFM expertise across high‑volume plastic parts
• Has personally worked on mould debugging and production ramp‑ups
• Comfortable moving fast and making calls under pressure
• Not a pure CAD designer. Factory experience is mandatory

Nice to have

• Experience working with international factories, not just one supplier
• Consumer product or high‑volume manufacturing background
• Experience fixing bad designs and getting them into production quickly
