Job Overview
The Senior Material Planner acts as the primary liaison between the customer and internal departments—including Production, Procurement, and Planning. You will be responsible for developing validated shipment plans, ensuring supply continuity, and managing the end-to-end material supply simulation to meet business goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Production & Shipment Planning: Collaborate with the Business Office, Production, and Procurement to develop and communicate shipment schedules that align with corporate objectives.
- MRP & Master Planning: Actively participate in Master Planning reviews and execute procurement actions derived from the MRP process.
- Feasibility & Cost Analysis: Partner with Planning to evaluate customer requirement changes, assessing both financial impact and operational feasibility.
- Supply Continuity: Secure alternate sourcing capabilities to mitigate supply chain risks and ensure customer cost targets remain viable.
- Relationship Management: Serve as the Supply Chain lead for customer relations, resolving conflicts and facilitating feedback between the customer and internal teams.
- CTB/AOS Management: Drive "Clear to Build" (CTB) and "Assurance of Supply" (AOS) strategies, leading action plans and material supply simulations to ensure production readiness.
Knowledge, Skills, and Competencies
- Supply Chain Expertise: Comprehensive understanding of global supply chain dynamics, strategic objectives, and the Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS) ecosystem.
- Technical Proficiency: High level of competence in using ERP systems to gather data and create professional, customer-facing reports.
- Process Knowledge: Familiarity with Engineering Change Notes (ECN) and their impact on the supply chain.
- Analytical Decision-Making: Ability to use data-driven judgment to prioritize tasks and measure performance against Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Proven ability to interface effectively with Buyers, Planners, and Operations teams.
- SAP proficiency is highly preferred.
- Kinaxis RapidResponse knowledge is a significant advantage.
Education & Experience
- Experience: 6 to 8 years of professional experience in Material Planning and Purchasing.
- Industry Background: Experience within a Contract Manufacturing (CM) environment is strongly preferred.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in a related field (Supply Chain, Business, or Engineering) or an equivalent combination of education and practical experience.
