Job description

Responsibilities and Duties

• Plan, execute and lead a group of team members in performing routine and non‑routine mechanical maintenance work including daily maintenance, unit overhaul, system condition assessment and equipment repair work to fulfill Power Purchase Agreement ("PPA").
• Ensure all safety procedures are followed, proper tools are used, Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE") is used and methods of handling work are adhered to.
• Perform maintenance work planning, coordination and execution including Permit To Work ("PTW") requisition and coordination with other sections if required.
• Lead and supervise a maintenance team to conduct monthly maintenance, unit overhaul, repair works and perform equipment / system condition analysis.
• Provide technical assistance and feedback (inclusive of initial troubleshooting within their capability) for effective maintenance planning and plant improvement to Senior Engineers and the Section Head.
• Liaise and coordinate with suppliers and contractors during maintenance work initiation, planning & execution.
• Identify all spares, materials and services required to perform all maintenance activities of the department.
• Initiate purchase of materials and services required to perform all maintenance activities of the department.
• Prepare and manage the overall maintenance budgetary and financial responsibilities of the department.
• Plan and allocate resources effectively to accomplish the work and meet the department’s objectives and performance targets.
• Manage the preparation and maintenance of reports necessary to carry out the functions of the department; prepare periodic reports for management to track strategic goal accomplishment.
• Comply with all applicable SHEQ legal requirements and stakeholder specifications by establishing policies, programmes and practices to conduct operations in a healthy, safe and environmentally sound manner.
• Conform to statutory legal regulatory and legislation requirements such as OSHA, FMA, Employment Act, Electricity Supply Act 1994, ISO 9001/14001/OSHAS 18001 etc.
• Perform other related tasks as needed to accomplish company overall objectives, which may be assigned from time to time.

Qualification and Competency

• Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering from a recognized higher learning institution.
• Minimum optional requirements by DOSH or added advantage:
• AESP – Authorised Entrant & Standby Person for Confined Space.
• PTL1 – Penetrant Testing Level 1.

Work Experience

• Open to fresh graduates.
• 3 to 5 years working experience in mechanical maintenance.
• Knowledge in plant operations and maintenance on coal‑fired power system and equipment is an added advantage.
