Job summary

A leading professional services firm in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a Senior Associate to join their Business Recovery Services team. This role involves managing client relationships, providing advisory services, and training junior staff. Ideal candidates should have a degree in Accounting or Finance, with at least 2 years of advisory or audit experience. Excellent communication skills and knowledge of IFRS are essential. The position includes significant responsibilities in financial analysis and client interactions.

As a Senior Associate, you'll work as part of a team of problem solvers, helping to solve complex business issues from strategy to execution.

Key Responsibilities
  • Proactively assist in the management of several clients, while reporting to Managers and above
  • Managing and training juniors within the team
  • Quickly developing an understanding of the target business and its drivers
  • Interpreting and analyzing of information memoranda, business plans, publicly available information on the target business
  • Reviewing and analyzing of historical trading, cash flow and balance sheets
  • Reviewing and analyzing of projections, and underlying assumptions
  • Reviewing of the adequacy of working capital facilities, including consideration of financing limits, term and covenants
  • Reporting f potential key issues for our client including identification of risk or price affecting considerations
  • Reviewing sale and purchase agreements and other legal documentation and correlating findings of due diligence process therein
  • Reviewing of financial structures and associated credit agreements
Requirements
  • Degree in Accounting, Economics, Finance or any other relevant disciplines and/or a professional accounting qualification.
  • At least 2 years of relevant advisory services or external audit experience post- qualification
  • Working knowledge of IFRS, Malaysian Companies’ Act 1965 and Code of Mergers and Takeovers.
  • Excellent written communications, able to write clearly and succinctly in a variety of communication settings and styles and get messages across that have the desired effect.
  • Excellent presentation skills, effective in a variety of formal presentation settings and can present to an internal as well as external audience.
  • Candidates with external Audit experience or experience in the Legal field are welcome to apply
